UGC-NET (UNIVERSITY GRANT COMMISION – NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR)
UGC is conducting National Eligibility Test through CBSE. It is the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions. You can apply at http://www.cbsenet.nic.in online.
This test is conducted in the last Sunday of June and December every year. The minimum eligibility to appear in the test is master degree with 55% marks(50% for SC/ST/OBC etc.); However final year student of masters program can also appear in the UGC-NET test and Such candidates must complete their P.G degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
UGC –NET exam is consist of three papers, what you have to prepare for all the three exams, idea is given below:
Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. 60 (sixty) multiple choice questions of 2 marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any 50 (fifty). In the event of the candidate attempted more than 50 questions, the first 50 questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Timings schedule for the UGC-NET Papers:
Paper I 60 out of which 50 question to be attempted 1¼ Hours (09:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M.)
Paper II 50 questions all are compulsory 1¼ Hours (11:15 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.)
Paper III 75 questions all are compulsory 2½ Hours (02:00 P.M. to 04:30 P.M.)
There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor
The UGC-NET test is conducted in all the states of the INDIA including union territory, you can appear in any of the centre as per list given below with code:
